Stake-leg Work Benches

Materials: Southern Yellow Pine, Hemlock

First project in my new workshop. Yellow pine is hard and full of resin; hard to work, but heavy and very strong. First bench has legs sawn from the same board as the seat, corners planed off and ends tapered. First adventure in boring angled holes by calibrated eyeball. Second bench has hemlock legs in a pine seat. Tapered spoon bit made for more secure joints. Finished with linseed oil and light beeswax.
