More early experiments with the treadle lathe (good to make
at demos). Patterned after thread reels in the Museum of London
book on Household Objects. The original was described as ending
in "fineals," but I suspect it was for use on a spinning
wheel such as that illustrated in the German Housebook, for which
the reel is illustrated with flared ends.
