16th Century Carpenter's Ruler

This little project was from the new book from the Mary Rose Trust, called "Before the Mast: Life and Death Aboard the Mary Rose." Among the 700 pages of very cool Tudor artifacts are several rulers (pg.334). Simple little project, and a period ruler is just kinda cool to have. At least nine were found on the wreck, both 12-inches and 24-inches. I chose a 24-inch specimen, and like the original, the marks on mine are somewhat freehand and not necessarily perpendicular to the edge.

There are no numbers, but there are circles every 6 inches, and the ends have half- and quarter-inch subdivisions:
