Rustic Bench

Materials: Black Walnut

A friend had some black walnut trees come down on his property, and he generously gave me some cut-offs after slabbing some of the timbers. While too knotty for turning, it will do just fine for a rustic bench.

For those who think that making period furniture if difficult, here's a great counter-example. Bore four holes, whack some legs in place, and there you go. I had thought of making a new shaving horse out of it (maybe in the English style), but for now it's just a bench.
