Materials: 1/4-inch rope.
This little project was inspired by a picture out of the Luttrel Psalter that shows a man pushing a barrow with what looks like a leather strap over this shoulder.
This struck me as a great little gizmo to have, so I knocked one out using some 1/4-inch manilla rope. When using my wheel barrow, I found that if I needed my hands for any reason, to adjust my hat or scratch what needs scratching, I had to set down the barrow. With a couple of S-hooks it could also be used to lift chests.
